When it comes to the film industry, it has been a far cry for women to showcase their creative talent. CWIFF will be a platform for them to translate their passion and dreams into reality on an international level.  The film festival also encourages men to play an active role; this is an opportunity for them as well. CWIFF doesn’t restrict to films based on women but also the creative variety films. CWIFF brings together cinema enthusiasts, filmmakers and artists to discover the best in the world of cinema. CWIFF will also host a variety of film workshops for film aspirants.

The press meet for CWIFF was conducted on March 8th, 2014 at Vani Mahal Mini Hall. S Nandhini and Film critic Mr. Sathish Kumar, all of whom were in much awe of this initiative. The CWIFF AWARD was unveiled at the press meet by the chief guest Ms. Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi.

Mr. Madhan commented on CWIFF, “Having a film festival dedicated to women is a wonderful idea. There are only a few women directors in the whole world and having a festival like this would give them an edge. Women have a lot of talent and creativity which is equal to any man, but they aren’t given ample opportunities. A few years back, a woman director won the Oscars and from henceforth there should be nothing stopping them. They should overcome the barriers and we should give them all that’s necessary for them to do so. CWIFF is a massive platform for women directors. For all those aspiring women out there who want to make it big CWIFF is their turning point!”
